ISTANBUL, Turkey – Turkish intelligence has nabbed one of Turkey’s most-wanted men in connection to last July’s botched coup attempt during an overseas operation in Sudan and flew him to Istanbul on Monday, state-run media reported.
Memduh Cikmaz, considered the primary banker of the Fethullah Gulen movement, was brought to Istanbul in the early hours of Monday morning after a two-month long sting jointly conducted by Turkey’s intelligence agency MIT and Sudan’s National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS), Anadolu Agency reported.

Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has abducted a Gülen movement-affiliated businessman from Sudan, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported on Monday.
According to the news Memduh Çıkmaz was brought to Turkey from Sudan in a joint operation between the two countries’ intelligence agencies. Sudan’s National Intelligence and Security Service is believed to have assisted in his arrest and repatriation, Anadolu reported.
The Aktif Haber news website reported that Çıkmaz had left Turkey in January 2016 after being pressured by the government and settled in Sudan, where he had investments. He was detained in September in Sudan as a result of the growing pressure of Ankara on Khartoum.
Çıkmaz, a native of the central Anatolian city of Çorum, was awarded by then-Turkish President Abdullah Gül for being the leading taxpayer in the city on June 4, 2010.
The Gülen movement is accused by the Turkish government of mounting a coup attempt on July 15, 2016, but the movement strongly denies any involvement.
The government launched a witch-hunt targeting the faith-based Gülen movement following the failed coup. Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu on Nov. 16 said 48,739 people had been jailed and eight holdings and 1,020 companies seized as part of operations against the movement.
The Turkish Justice Ministry announced on July 13 that 50,510 people have been arrested and 169,013 have been the subject of legal proceedings on coup charges since the failed coup in July 2016.
Turkey has suspended or dismissed more than 150,000 judges, teachers, police and civil servants since July 15 of last year through government decrees issued as part of an ongoing state of emergency. (turkishminute.com)

An operation against the Gülenist Terror Group's (FETÖ) St.Petersburg establishments, "Oxford Vision" and the "Russian-Turkish Cultural Center," has been launched by the Russian authorities, Anadolu Agency reported yesterday.
During the inspections, which have been conducted since May by the Russian Ministry of Finance into emergency situations and employment and migration at the FETÖ-linked Oxford Vision language school and the Russian-Turkish Culture Center, the authorities identified a large number of violations of the law, the report said.
According to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti's news, following the identifications, both institutions received hefty fines. The suspects, one of whom is the founder of the Russian-Turkish Culture Center, Adnan Öztürk, while the other is an instructor at Oxford Vision, Eşref Sarışahin, were detained due to claims that they offered bribes to the authorities that conducted the inspection.
Since 2013, both FETÖ-linked institutions have established their activities in several locations in Russia. Yet, according to the information that AA received from the authorities, both institutions have been dormant for one-and-a-half years, while inspections against the institutions have increased due to denunciations, and numerous irregularities in their activities have been discovered by the Russian authorities.
Authorities further stated that the FETÖ-linked institutions will be shut down with a court order or the institutions will close themselves down.
Turkey has asked countries to close FETÖ-linked schools, colleges and businesses following the attempted coup that left 249 people dead on July 15. The group, led by U.S.-based Fetullah Gülen, has a large network of overseas educational and commercial interests.

Gulen Schools in Germany racism, prejudice and gender abuse

Gülen Movement under Fire in Germany

Fethullah Gülen is a Turkish-born preacher who lives in the US and is an activist for Islam. His movement runs various schools and other educational facilities in Germany and elsewhere. Critics claim the network has a conservative if not Islamist agenda. Anti-Gülen sentiment is getting louder.

Turkish Police raid gulen' schools detained 26 over Tax fraud charges.

As part of the investigation into the Gülen Movement's alleged illegal activities, police units from the southern province of Kahramanmaraş raided schools and educational institutions of the movement and took 26 people into custody on suspicion of tax fraud.

Wednesday's raids were conducted simultaneously in central Kahramanmaraş and its Türkoğlu, Afşin, Göksün, Elbistan and Andırın districts. Computers on the premises were seized to be investigated by forensics teams. Turkey is preparing for a comprehensive fight against the Gülen Movement following the last National Security Council (MGK) meetings, the latest of which took place on June 29 and which recognized illegal structures as a threat against Turkey's national security.

According to reports, the MGK prepared a recommendation letter to fight the Gülen Movement, which was submitted to the Prime Ministry shortly after the meeting. The letter was recently approved by the Cabinet and became a decree. The precautions to be taken in the scope of the decree will be passed on to all institutions as circulars, paving the way for the preparation of a "Parallel Structure" Action Plan. The decree will thereby implement a comprehensive blockage against the Gülen Movement.

The MGK meeting underscored that any structure that poses a threat to the unity and security of the state should be recognized as a threat to national security. "A target has been specified that covers all attempts directed at obstructing the stability of elected governments or the will of the people," the MGK recommendation read
