Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet
Davutoglu and Mali's
Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation Tieman Hubert
Coulibaly signed a cooperation protocol between the foreign ministries of
Turkey and Mali
on Saturday.
In a joint press conference,
Davutoglu said that when difficult days were over, Mali would be the
strongest country of Africa.
Elections which will take place in
July in Mali
will reshape the future of the country, said Davutoglu, adding that the
important thing was to restore stability in Mali without any
foreign and permanent intervention.
Davutoglu said he would pay a visit
to Mali soon,
adding that the two countries would set up an action plan in agriculture and
energy areas.
Guest minister, in his part, said
his country had been passing through a difficult period, adding that Turkey had
been in solidarity with Mali during this
period.
Noting that illiteracy was one of
the sources of terrorism, Coulibaly said that Turkey supported Mali in its
struggle against illiteracy.
Turkish schools in Mali gained great success and Turkish teachers educated thousands of students, said Coulibaly,
adding that his three children were being educated in a Turkish school.
Coulibaly said that the problem in Mali could not be
solved only by military methods. "We will solve it by economic and
political ways," he said.
